The Bromley Community Engagement Forum (BCEF) was host to 150 young people from Bromley’s Schools on Friday 30th April for the Youth Factor 2 Conference.
On the agenda at the Churchill Theatre was Road Safety, Cyber Bullying and Respect, with an opportunity for attendees to see a mock Coroners Court and gain a true understanding of the repercussions of not using Bromley’s roads safely.
The day also played host to the Boroughs top leaders from Policing, Fire and the Council, offering local teachers the chance to question the leaders on a variety of issues and gain an understanding about how decisions are made. The leaders were also put on the spot to provide a vision for the future, all encompassing a safe environment for all!
Howard Clark, BCEF Executive Chairman said: “The day was a real opportunity for my team and the young delegates to interact. The opportunity to understand the key issues which affect Bromley’s young residents is paramount and in turn helps for the right decisions to be made for the future”.
Borough Commander Charles Griggs said: "The BCEF has a role in ensuring effective community engagement for the Safer Bromley Partnership. This event was another example of how well they do this. Most young people are enthusiastic, energetic and care about their future. The workshops were a fantastic opportunity to give us their perspective". |
